Flier Drop Touches Hearts

Larry and I walked up and down 14th Street SE, put papers in people's hands and said, "Free food." People said, "Okay, I'll be there!" It was fantastic and very easy! Larry and I were even touched by encountering a few people living in new homes after being flooded out of their old houses. One really nice woman effected by the flood was putting in some beautiful new flowers in front of her new house. Larry asked a few questions and we ended up having a short prayer with her. The woman was in tears and I think Larry and I were both fighting them back too! God is so good. He never gives up on us...even when we are forced by Mother Nature to relocate our entire lives. There is hope! This was a great, spirit-filled activity.

We had a great day delivering fliers today as we combed the area and had positive and encouraging comments from friends and neighbors. We were blessed with nine volunteers from our congregation that averages in the low to mid twenties so it was a great turn out for us. One lady asked one of our teams to pray for some serious situations in her life. It was the first home they visited and God Blessed our team allowing them to offer up prayers for her and her teenage son thanked them so much for their prayers. I believe God is doing a Great work in our community and we are looking forward to being His hands and feet at McKinley.

Oakhill Jackson Community Church met on Wednesday night and delivered flyers to our area residents. Response was very positive and we can report the the lawn signs and billboards must of been effective. Many people we approached knew about the BBQ already.
